Sciatic nerve pain

Osteoporosis

Who should go to Healing Motion Therapy for help?

Anyone with muscular or nerve pain.

Individuals who have tried and had limited success with other types of physical therapy.

Anyone with acute injuries or chronic symptoms who want to relieve pain without surgery or medication.

Individuals who are physically active and want to avoid or recover from injury.

People who want to keep their body fit and maximize their body’s potential for an active, healthy lifestyle.

Active people who want to take control of their health and maintain core strength and flexibility.

Athletes looking for performance enhancement.

Therapy Process

How do you line up?
Take a look at your alignment in a mirror.

Are your shoulders level? If not, this could represent a structural difference stemming from the support of your hips.

Can you see the back of your hand versus just your thumb and first finger? If so, your shoulders are potentially internally rotated.

Is one arm out front further than the other? You may have a rotation in your shoulders or hips.

Are your hips level? Check by putting your fingertips at the top of your hipbone.

Do your knees and feet point straight ahead? Does one side look different from the other? The knees are often the “window” of what muscles are working in the hips.

If your knees or feet don’t point straight ahead, this can suggest a compensation mechanism for the structural imbalance or weakness in your hips. All of these positions can lead to pain unless you correct the alignment.

Immediate Results

Look at the shoulder rotation in the first picture versus the second one. This is after 1 exercise.

Long-term Results:

Look at the difference in the head and shoulder position, as well as the hip position. All three are closer to the line of gravity. This is after three weeks.

The exercises are simple and easy to do. They are effective because they are specifically designed to treat your misalignment and muscular imbalances.

Healing Motion has given me my mobility back.
“The exercises that Michelle gives me makes me functional and have freed me from my chronic pain so I can enjoy many more activities. Before seeing Michelle I hadn’t played golf in years-but after seeing her I have been able to play 18 holes again.”
Charlie B.

Healing Motion Therapy saved my life.
“After years of back surgeries, physical therapy, steroid injections, acupuncture, chiropractics, pain clinics and many doctor’s visits I was still in terrible pain. The Egoscue Method was the only therapy that helped me. I am so glad to have met Michelle Tanner, the only Egoscue therapist in the Twin cities. Everyone should experience the power she has to help them live pain free.”
Shirley R.

I can remain pain free.
“I saw Michelle not expecting simple exercises to help my problems. To my surprise, within a few days of starting her prescribed exercises my knee, hip, and headaches were markedly better. Now as long as I do my exercises I remain pain free. It is a truly empowering experience.”
Mark J., N.D.

I Have Hope!
“I’ve been doing them faithfully everyday for about 2 weeks now. WOW…. I HAVE HOPE! I have started to feel some relief with my symptoms. After I do my exercises I go for a brief walk. My body wants to move. It’s interesting because during my exercises I have all kinds of feelings going on in my body. This is a good thing. I can feel the muscles in my back starting to relax and it feels great. The
changes in my back feel awesome and I know with time my condition is going to continue to improve. Michelle…Thank you so much for what you’ve chosen to do. I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t learned about you.”
Katherine C.

Today I am pain free.
“After months of working doctors and physical therapists that told me that they couldn’t help me with my pain, Michelle helped me work through my postural issues that were causing my knee pain. Today I am pain free, running and know that I will be for the rest of my life thanks to Michelle and the Egoscue Method! I tell people about Michelle on a weekly basis because I know she can help them with their pain too!”
Kris C.

Results are permanent.
“Michelle has done more for me in 3 sessions than 170 hours of traditional physical therapy was able to. It is amazing how poor posture can cause injury, inhibit recovery and keep you from enjoying life pain free. Results are almost instantaneous and permanent. All you need is Michelle and the determination and will to change. Thanks for all you’ve done for me!”

Credentials:
Healing Motion is based directly on the teachings of Pete Egoscue and the Egoscue Method Clinic in San Diego, California. Michelle graduated with a B.A. in Exercise Physiology, and trained and worked at the main Egoscue clinic in San Diego for four years. She has also served as the interim director of the Egoscue clinic in Chicago. Michelle is the most experienced therapist offering this technique in Minnesota.

How does the therapy process work?
The therapy process begins with an initial consultation to visually determine the alignment of your body. Photos are taken to compare your posture to the ideal blueprint of the body. Overall posture and gait are assessed and an individually tailored set of exercises is designed for each client. Clients continue their exercises at home and are reevaluated for a new set of exercises with each visit.

How long before I will feel better?
Most clients see and feel results immediately, and the process typically takes 4-8 sessions for the body to adapt.

Are the exercises hard to do?
The therapy uses your muscles to move your skeletal bones, and therefore the exercises gently change your posture.

Does health insurance cover this therapy?
Typically health insurance does not cover Healing Motion therapy, but for some employers flex spending can be used.

What should I bring the first visit?
Please bring comfortable clothes to do exercises in. It is best to bring shorts, or pants that can be rolled up past the knee in order to look at the alignment.

How long are the sessions?
The sessions typically last 1 1/2 hours. The first session tends to last a little longer for the explanation of your photos and to answer additional questions.
